Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things worth recommending

People often ask about the tools and gadgets that keep me coding, organized, or sometimes just feeling productive (even when I’m actually procrastinating). Here’s my list of go-to favorites, tried and tested.

Workstation

  • 16” MacBook Pro, M3 Pro, 32GB RAM (2023)

Before this, I was using an Intel-based 15” MacBook Pro, and the difference is night and day. I haven’t heard the fans kick in even once, despite the incredibly heavy loads I put it through.

  • Dual LG 27UK850-W 27” 4K

These monitors come with USB-C ports on the back, making them ideal for macOS users. I really don’t need anything fancy.

  • JJK x HG Summit 65 Keyboard - Gojo

While I’m not into anime, I have to say this keyboard is an incredible piece of hardware. Higround did solid with the build, offering a satisfying typing experience, and has a style that stands out without needing to know the backstory.

  • STEELCASE Leap V2 Fully Loaded

If I’m going to spend the day in a terrible ergonomic position, I might as well do it in a chair that’s worth the investment.

Development tools

  • PyCharm

An all-in-one IDE for Python that streamlines coding, debugging, and project management. Its intelligent features save me time and keep my workflow efficient, especially on complex projects. (VSCode folks, we do not get along)

  • iTerm2

A powerful terminal replacement that keeps my workflow smooth and organized. It’s customizable and packed with features that make managing multiple sessions a breeze.

  • DataGrip

Great software for working with databases. It’s saved me from building countless admin interfaces for my projects over the years, making database management a lot more efficient.

Productivity

  • Raycast

Magic wand for my Mac. Launch apps, find files, run scripts—Raycast does it all in a flash, so I barely have to lift a finger. Basically, it’s like my mac personal butler.

  • Notion

My digital junk drawer that somehow keeps me organized. From notes to random ideas to full-blown project plans, Notion holds it all together when my brain can’t.

  • Focus

Simple tool for blocking distracting websites when I need to just do the work and get some momentum going.
